Dear Member,

The second paragraph of Article 10 of the Law No. 5174 on the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey and Chambers and Commodity Exchanges titled “Notification of Amendments” states that “Those whose addresses and statuses cannot be determined as of the two years preceding the current year and our members who have not paid their dues during this period shall be suspended by the decision of the chamber’s board of directors and their dues accruals shall be stopped.

Article 14 of the Chamber Transaction Regulation regarding this issue is as follows.

“Chambers update their membership records in January of each year in accordance with Article 10 of the Law. Accordingly; the memberships of those whose addresses and statuses cannot be determined from the first day of January of the second year preceding the current year until the time the update process is carried out and those who have not paid at least one installment of their dues debts accrued during this period shall be suspended by the decision of the board of directors. Suspension of membership includes the deletion of members’ names from professional groups and voter lists and the suspension of membership dues accruals of these members.”

In accordance with the above provisions, membership suspension procedures are carried out every January.

Regarding suspended members, the fifth paragraph of the same article of the Regulation states that “Of the members whose membership is suspended due to the inability to determine their address and status, those who fail to notify their address and status within two years from the beginning of the year following the decision of the board of directors regarding the suspension of membership shall be notified to the relevant trade registry office upon the proposal of the board of directors and the decision of the assembly in order for the necessary procedures to be carried out within the framework of the Turkish Commercial Code and the Trade Registry Regulation. As of the first day of the month following this notification, chamber records shall be deemed to have been deleted.”

Our members are required to notify their address and status by 31/12/2024 and pay at least one installment of their accumulated dues for the last two years.
